Nikhil Thaker, MD
Dr. Nikhil Thaker is a practicing radiation oncologist, the current Chief Medical Informatics Officer for the Division of Radiation Oncology, and former Chief Medical Officer for all Value-based programs at Arizona Oncology. He went to medical school at Rutgers University-New Jersey Medical School, during which time he was awarded a clinical research fellowship through the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he also completed an Administrative Fellowship and led efforts in healthcare economics, quality improvement, and healthcare innovation. He is the current Vice Chair of the Code Utilization and Application Committee in the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), an editor of the ASTRO Coding Resource, member of the ASTRO Payment Reform Workgroup, and the past Chair of Socioeconomics in the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS). In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Thaker focuses on the intersection of technological innovation, value-based cancer care delivery, economics, and informatics. He is co-founder of the analytical software company Bayta Systems.
